My goal with this blog is to show you how to create a successful blog that earns money someday soon. Of course, knowing what I know and knowing you know I know what I know, you should assume that this blog makes a little money too. I’ll be upfront and say that:
Disclosure: I earn money from recommending a few products on this blog, mainly web hosting and domain names.
What this means is I’m both affiliated with and sponsored by HostGator, however three things are important:
- I’d never use any product or recommend it to my visitors if I didn’t 100% love it. I can choose any webhost, but have been happiest with HostGator for almost 10 years. If you find a better web host or would rather use X host your friend recommends, by all means go for it. I can’t gaurantee you can make a wordpress blog with our easy steps, but this is the internet and anything is possible.
- I picked HostGator because it made me most comfortable as beginner and continues to deliver as I grow. I can only expect the same great service for you. In other words I would bet HostGator to be the best and cheapest web hosting and domain name choice for your new blog.
- Recommending parts of a blog like hosting, domains, themes, other tools like landing pages etc is a great way to earn back the costs of how to make a blog. You should at least consider what I do here to monetize your own blog because it’s often free and relatively easy to promote products online.
What should you assume when using this blog?
Same to say you should assume that any links to third part products (like hosting, for example) are affiliate links meaning if you sign up I earn a small credit at no cost to you. Along with that assumption is that 1. I’ve done my homework picking what I deem the best host at the moment for you and 2. I’m also assuming that you do your own research and compare hosts as this guide is just one of thousands on the web.
Are there any strings attached?
No, none whatsoever. You don’t have any commitment and don’t pay a dime extra for using this guide. You in fact pay less because I provide a deals page that gets you a free domain and hosting for 70% off. Your information is anonymous and I often don’t even hear from those who sign up.
Why is Greg writing this?
It’s been my belief since day 1 of blogging that I need to be honest – a real, do-gooding person – if any of this blogging stuff is going to work. Thus, I try everyday to be honest and provide you with the facts involved in blogging and online marketing. I will answer any question you can think of, and believe strongly in the pillars of community and openness and have allowed WordPress to grow to it’s vast state today.
